Chahinkapa

It has been forever since I have posted anything on my Chahinkapa blog.  Since Seattle I have been in New Orleans working on a project for the NFC.  I just returned from a 7 night 8 day Disney Curise on the Magic and it was fantastic.  We started at the Cape and sailed to Key West where we did some shopping, then on to Grand Caman where snorkeling was the activity of the day along with an adventure to Guy Harvey’s shop where you can see him paint some of his wonderful pictures.  From there to Cozumel to see the Mayan ruins  and many parts of the Island…..a night at sea and a stop at Castaway Cay gave us a great day in the sun.  Disney does cruises like no other line and there are activities for all ages…not just children.  The customer service is phenomenal.  We did hear they are adding the Mediterranean and Alaska next year….maybe another cruise will be in store for all of us.  I went with Tim and Allison and Kelly and Hunter and Allison’s parents.  A great cruise that I could recommend hands down.  Want to schedule one go to destinationsinflorida.com.  Tell them I sent you.  They are a great travel agency and one of Disney’s Best.

The weather is still a bit sporadic but it has been a much better day today than the last few. A quiet Saturday but everyone seems to be coming out of their caves to shop, drive, or walk around and see that all is well. Some are sawing up what is left of tall trees that were uprooted or pushed over by the high winds. Others are picking up the debris that is left in the street, yards and ponds. I have seen no snakes or alligators but I did see a bevy of turtles today sunning in the lake.

If you want a bit of cheer in your life, watch the Old MacDonald video.  How long has it been since you sang a song with such flare and enthusiasm?  Children bring so much into our lives and Grandchildren give us reason to love life.   I have been watching the hurricane hit New Orleans as that is where my next assignment will be.  I was supposed to fly out today but it has been delayed a week due to the evacuation.  Given that I have had some extra time to spend enjoying the grandchildren.  They spent their first overnight with Grammy last night.  It doesn’t get any better than this…
